It’s always exciting to photograph a wedding at a venue we haven’t been to before, and Laura & Brian’s wedding at the La La Restaurant in Balbriggan was an absolute delight. We met with Laura & Brian at the restaurant in advance of the wedding just to walk through the day with them, something we like to do with couples when we haven’t been to a venue before, and get a good sense of the light and space. The large garden at the back, beyond the sunken seated area, would be where the open marquee was going to be for the ceremony and dining, so their wedding portraits would have to be taken somewhere else. Thankfully, Ardgillan Castle is just 10 minutes up the road and we know it well from having worked and visited there many times. Laura & Brian’s wedding day was utterly charming from start to finish, seeing everyone having so much fun under perfect June skies, relaxing it the garden with family and friends, enjoying the great food and an evening of friends playing music. Pretty much everything you could hope for with two people who fit together so well. Another memorable and fun day out.
