From the moment we met and chatted with Sarah & Shane about their Wedding Day we knew we'd get on, their love for Lord of the Rings had us smiling from ear to ear - I think we chatted more about the books than their wedding!! Of course, it made complete sense that they would choose one of the loveliest castles in Ireland to hold their celebrations, its exclusive setting makes it ideal for party business. The food at Bellingham Castle is always superb, and you couldn't wish for nicer folks to work with.

This was one of those wedding days that had almost every kind of weather, a wedding photographer's delight ... not! The day began with lovely sunshine ... no, showers ... wait ... sunshine ... followed by showers ... and so on. You have to just go with whatever the day throws at you - most of a wedding day is likely to be indoors, but it is nice to get outside for portraits if possible. As luck would have it Gandalf brought buckets of clear blue skies just as Sarah and Shane's ceremony ended, which meant hard shadows, high contrasts and the portrait photographer's eternal search for shade and flattering light. Luckily, the grounds at Bellingham Castle are wonderfully well maintained, and with plenty of mature gardens to work with finding shade is never an issue.
