A Tinakilly House Wedding | 2017
Aisling & Alan | Tinakilly House | October 2017
Aisling & Alan booked us for their wedding around the same time as their friends, and so before their wedding at Tinakilly they had a chance to see how we work. It's always fun when that kind of thing happens, and because you never know who's going to be at what event I don't think you can do this kind of work unless you really enjoy it - it shows.
It was lovely to work with these two on their Wedding Day, as wedding photographers we know how each other works and play to each other's strengths. Aisling & Alan just went along with everything we suggested and were so at ease with each other that the time flew. As with all weddings most of what we do as photographers is simply document what's happening, seeing what's happening and choosing our moments. Of course, we set up some photos here and there throughout the day but we tend to give loose directions so that people have room to be themselves and, because there are two of us, we tend to capture far more natural moments. Mostly though, stuff just happens and we play it by ear.
Tinakilly House is a wedding photographer's dream location. The house itself is wonderful with its high ceiling rooms and large windows, a beautiful staircase doesn't go to waste either. Outside there's a mix of lawns and woods, plenty of variety, and nothing is ever very far away from the main house where guests have plenty of space to enjoy the grounds, sitting and chatting outdoors in the afternoon. The wedding reception is held in a vast marquee near to the main house, dressed with chandeliers and luxurious sofas with views out into the woods.
